RESIDUAL ACTIVITY OF HERBICIDES APPLIED IN DIFFERENT MODALITIES IN COTTON ON CORN CULTIVATED IN SUCCESSION
ABSTRACT – Herbicides that have long persistence in the soil solution, as fomesafen, can present problems in rotational crops due to their residual effect in soil. Thus, the initial aim of this study was to evaluate whether treatments containing fomesafen applied pre-emergence in cotton, may compromise the corn grown in succession. Under the experimental conditions the application of fomesafen alone or associated to other herbicides applied in pre-and early post-emergence in cotton did not result in significant effects on any variable, resulting in the absence of carryover effect on corn hybrid AG 7098 PRO 2, sowed 264 and 257 days after herbicide application in pre and early post-emergence, respectively.
